[01:00] <TheGreyGhost> I'm mostly into independant stuff... But I pick up some japanese comics and one or two super-hero books every now and then.

[01:00] <anindrew> And a lot of those guys went back to Marvel for a bit, too.
[01:01] <anindrew> I used to draw a lot, too, in middle school and high school.
[01:01] <anindrew> I actually met Todd McFarlane once and showed him one of my best drawings.

Despite attempts to confront racial discrimination since the 1950's, the capital justice system continues to lag behind. People have been and continue to be executed on the basis of their race, and the race of their victim.
[01:29] <_Super_Froggy_> It is easily seen that the death penalty is carried out in a racist way. Many have done studies on this exact subject, over numerous years. The results fail to show any substantial improvement.
[01:29] <_Super_Froggy_> The archival research that has been performed […] has found consistent evidence of racial disparitie
[01:29] <anindrew> Well, when's the paper due?
[01:30] <_Super_Froggy_> in capital sentencing […]. For example, Baldus, Woodworth, and Pulaski (1990) examined over 2000 murder cases adjucated in Georgia and found that a death sentence was returned in 22% of the cases in which black defendants were convicted of killing a white victim, but in only 8% of the cases in which the defendant and the victim were white (Donnella 1471).
[01:30] <_Super_Froggy_> This is only one study that was done, but many others showed similar results. Too many people are being put to death because of their race or ethnic background.
[01:30] <_Super_Froggy_> Many would try to argue that the death penalty is not racist, that there are
[01:30] <_Super_Froggy_> are simply more black people that kill and comit crimes. Even if this were proven true, that does not change the evidence of a death sentence conviction being issued more often when it is a case of a black person killing a white.
